826 Dream Station

The objective of this project was to create a brand identity system for a new, fictitious 826 Tutoring Center and Store in Las Vegas, Nevada. "826's goal is to encourage the exploration of endless possibility through the power of writing."

This process began with researching the history of Las Vegas. After researching, I synthesized my findings and pinpointed the successes and challenges the residents faced while living there full time – as much of Las Vegas consists of tourists and entertainers. Pinpointing the problems within the education system helped me when brainstorming conceptual directions for the store’s theme. After several weeks making moodboards and skteching, the concept of a ‘dream station’ arised.

The dream station is a cardboard fort that is both customizeable and a safe space for students to exercise their imagination through story telling and creative writing. With the exception of the dream station, all of the products hold imaginary magic attributes within them.

Language is an important element of 826 which is thus why the 826 Dream Station is founded on the quote, “We believe that creative writing encourages students to break down barriers and imagine the full range of what is possible.”
